What I want for X-Mas is a Sig Saur 9 mm

The parents of the Oxford High killer have been charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter. They were on the lam for about 12 hours before law enforcement caught up with them in Detroit.
“Why would they hide out in Detroit,” you might ask? The Motor City just happens to be across the Ambassador Bridge from Windsor, Ontario, Canada. So an enterprising couple on the run from the law hides out in Northwestern Detroit, an industrial part of the city, to figure out the best time to sneak across the bridge, evading border officials from both sides of the river — the Detroit River if you’re wondering — then casually drives north to the outer reaches of Hudson Bay, near — or beyond — the Arctic Circle, never to be heard from again. Leaving their 15 -year-old son to fend for himself in the courts of law. He was the one that pulled the trigger anyway. Let him pay for his sins.
Thoughtful parents. They buy him a Sig Saur 9 mm handgun, which he brags about on social media, he then leaves clues to his intentions, a note that said, “The thoughts won’t stop, Help me.” Next to a drawing of a semi-automatic handgun. Below that were the sentences, “My life is useless,” and “The world is dead.”
That was the morning of the shooting, a few days after Ethan had been caught researching ammunition on school computers. Mom Crumbley (Jennifer) texted son Ethan, “Lol. I’m not mad at you, you have to learn not to get caught.”
Lol, yeah, lots of laughs as the 15-year-old kid pulled out that brand new Sig Saur 9 mil and killed four of his classmates and wounded nearly a dozen more. Lol, mom.
While Ethan was killing his classmates Mom texted again, saying, “Ethan, don’t do it.” A little late Mom.
Well, at least that kid and his parents didn’t have their Second Amendment rights trampled on by a heavy-handed government. Nosiree, Billy Bob.
Well, maybe they did, the parents anyway, when the government charged mom and dad, Jennifer and James Crumbley, with four counts each of involuntary manslaughter. A half million bail, for each. Mom cried during the video arraignment and dad, well he laughed and shook his head. Lol.
This is sort of a tangent, but not really. Fred Guttenberg got a little salty with a tweet aimed at North Carolina right wing nut bar — and U.S. Congressmember — Madison Cawthorn —
.@CawthornforNC, what the fuck are you talking about & shut the fuck up. You hypocritical punk who incites violence, & is ok with the murder of my daughter from gun violence. If you care about Democracy, walk away from Washington DC and never return.pic.twitter.com/cv9bpt7Bgw
— Fred Guttenberg (@fred_guttenberg) December 4, 2021
Maybe we can forgive Guttenberg’s moment of insensitivity. His daughter was gunned down in the Margory Stoneman Douglas High School Parkland, FL school shooting and Cawthorn is okay with that.
The Lieutenant Governor of Texas, Dan Patrick, said there are more important things than living. He was talking about letting old people and other at risk humans catch COVID-19 and die a terrible death so Texas could have an open economy. Old folks have lived long enough! Let them give it up for the young!
But I’m betting old Dan Patrick, right wing crackpot of Texas, feels the same way about guns! Better to have some high school and grade school kids murdered by nuts with guns than infringe on the Second Amendment rights of those nuts. Maybe their blood helps water the Tree of Liberty.
Anyway, this is what the Crumbleys did right — before they decided to become fugitives — they lawyered up. Not just for themselves, but for their son as well. From the first day of the tragedy, Oakland County, Mi authorities were saying neither the killer or his parents were cooperating with police. I don’t care what any cop drama shows, or any successful capital crime prosecution shows, the worst thing a defendant can do, especially if he or she is guilty, is cooperate with authorities without consulting with a lawyer first. My educated bet is the defense lawyers will be able to plea bargain on behalf of the parents, even though they did try to evade justice. My guess is their charges will be reduced and they won’t have to give up their arsenal of weapons or do any serious time. Second Amendment and all that. The kid though, that will be a tough one. Security video clearly shows Crumbley taking aim at the students he was killing and trying to kill.
The “artist” who allegedly helped the Crumbley’s evade authorities claims he didn’t know they were fugitives. If he’s white that might be a good defense. White privilege and all that.
This should come as no surprise: The Crumbleys, James and Jennifer at least, appear to be Trump supporters, MAGA nuts. Who knows? Maybe some of those people Ethan shot (and killed) are (were) anti-Trump. This may sound crass, but if young Ethan whacked a couple of Biden supporters …
Okay, I’m just too cynical. But there are, no doubt, Trumpers, far right nut bar extremists, who would applaud anyone that killed people viewed as anti-Trump. The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has documented the growing number of people that lionize the Charleston, S.C. man who murdered nine people at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston. That guy is a hero to a part of our population — a part that is also opposed to students learning the truth about American history because it will expose the ongoing systemic racist policies our nation was built on. If he has supporters, why not the shooter in Oxford? Look what the supporters of Kyle Rittenhouse did for him. It’s that cute, chubby little baby face that won over the jury.
It would be no surprise to find there are people that are supporting the Crumbleys because — the Second Amendment. The government wants to hold the parents responsible for the murders committed by their 15-year-old son. That’s just not right. We have a right to buy and own firearms, and if one of our kids shoots up a school, c’est la vie.
Prosecutors just have to prove James and Jennifer Crumbley were grossly negligent with their son and their Sig Saur 9 mm handgun. Show that they, James and Jennifer Crumbley, knew their son was extremely troubled, that their son’s teachers were aware and made the parents aware of his behavior. That mom thought it was “lol!” he was caught researching ammunition for that Sig Saur 9 mm handgun.
You know they have supporters — in Congress, no less. Just a few days after the shooting, before the memorial services, Rep. Thomas Massie, Republican (of course) representing Kentucky’s 4th District tweeted out this family Christmas photo —
Merry Christmas! 🎄
ps. Santa, please bring ammo. 🎁 pic.twitter.com/NVawULhCNr— Thomas Massie (@RepThomasMassie) December 4, 2021
Merry Christmas mofos. Please send ammo.
There are literally thousands of replies to Massie’s tweet. One of the best ones said, “Guess who took the Christ out of Christmas.” You can scroll through them, but here are a few reply tweets. There is one by comedian Kathy Griffin that is very funny. You will see it if you scroll through the tweets.
Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition. #ThomasMassie and family celebrating the birth of Jesus. This is an example of the mentality of today’s @GOP. pic.twitter.com/a9rjAtwHyc

Merry Effin’ Christmas
Gun violence — as American as your apple pie and overly materialistic Christmas season. Sadly, Fred Guttenberg know this. Click here.
My thoughts are with the people of Oxford, Michigan who will not have a joyous holiday because their son or daughter was gunned down by a little punk whose parents gave him a Sig Saur 9 mm handgun just days before he used it to kill and wound some of his fellow students. My condolences to the families and friends of Madisyn Baldwin, 17, Hana St. Juliana, 14,, Justin Shilling, 17 and Tate Myre who, we are told, charged at the shooter to try and stop the slaughter. No telling if he saved any lives with his act of bravery, but that doesn’t matter. He just decided to try and stop the killer and paid with his life. Tate Myre is a hero.
Sorry if my post sounds anti-Second Amendment.
Tim Forkes started as a writer on a small alternative college newspaper in Milwaukee called the Crazy Shepherd. Writing about entertainment issues, he had the opportunity to speak with many people in show business, from the very famous to the people struggling to find an audience. In 1992 Tim moved to San Diego, CA and pursued other interests, but remained a freelance writer. Upon arrival in Southern California he was struck by how the business of government and business was so intertwined, far more so than he had witnessed in Wisconsin. His interest in entertainment began to wane and the business of politics took its place. He had always been interested in politics, his mother had been a Democratic Party official in Milwaukee, WI, so he sat down to dinner with many of Wisconsin’s greatest political names of the 20th Century: William Proxmire and Clem Zablocki chief among them. As a Marine Corps veteran, Tim has a great interest in veteran affairs, primarily as they relate to the men and women serving and their families. As far as Tim is concerned, the military-industrial complex has enough support. How the men and women who serve are treated is reprehensible, while in the military and especially once they become veterans. Tim would like to help change that reality.
