Baltimore Arena League team unveils identity
Co-owner Roger Mody, Mayor Catherine Pugh, and head coach Omarr Smith announced that the new Arena Football team will be called the Baltimore Brigade with blue, black, and white as the team colors.
The regular season begins April 7 when the Brigade travel down the Beltway to take on their expansion counterparts in D.C., the Washington Valor. The home opener will be a month later when they face the Tampa Bay Storm at Royal Farms Arena on May 7.
Many fans had been debating for weeks what nickname they believed the organization would choose.
The most popular choice among Facebook and Twitter users seemed to be a revival of the Canadian Football League’s Baltimore Stallions who won the Grey Cup in their only year of existence. Since the organization went in a different direction with the Brigade, let’s take a look at what social media thought of the new team’s brand:
