Five Red Heifers

What possibly could be the third most significant headline regarding prophecy in roughly two thousand years may have occurred last week. Five red heifers arrived in Israel on Thursday, September 15, 2022.

You are probably thinking, “There must be livestock in transport every moment of every day someplace in the world. What makes these five red heifers so special?”

Sacrificing one of these heifers could accelerate the “last days” events to rocket speed.

If this is the third most significant prophecy headline in two thousand years, let us take a step back and look at significant prophecy fulfilments one and two.

Roughly two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ was crucified, rose again the third day, and forty days later ascended into heaven. Seven days later, the church begins at Pentecost.

Then in 70 AD, the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple. The nation of Israel faded into history, or so it seemed. The people of Israel were scattered all over the globe. They had no home.

Ezekiel 37 is divided into three paragraphs. All three paragraphs are specific prophecies. Verses 1-14 tell us of the rebirth of Israel. This prophecy was fulfilled on May 14, 1948, when Israel became a nation again. The second paragraph (verses 15-20) speaks of the rejoining of Judah and Israel. This prophecy was fulfilled when Israel retook Jerusalem and the Temple Mount on June 7, 1967. The fulfillment of these two prophecies opened the door for the parable of the fig tree to happen (Matthew 24:32-35; Mark 13:28-31; Luke 21:29-33). The rest of Ezekiel 37 tells us of the coming day when Christ rules the world from Jerusalem.

The signs of the end times: earthquakes, changes in the weather, famine, pestilence, increased violence, teens being more uncontrollable, and more, will act like a woman in labor – growing in intensity while becoming more frequent.

Why are these red heifers important?

Several places in the Bible talk of future events in the Temple; as mentioned earlier, the Temple was destroyed in 70 AD. Therefore, the Jews must rebuild the Temple at some point. Jesus and the prophet Daniel speak of the future Antichrist inside the holy place within the Temple (Daniel 9:27; Matthew 24:15). Daniel and Jesus tell us that the Antichrist will stop the sacrificing at the Temple.

The Antichrist cannot stop the sacrificing at the Temple if the Temple does not exist and the sacrifices are not taking place. Therefore, for the Bible prophecies to take place, the Temple needs to be rebuilt, and the animal sacrifices started.

According to Numbers 19:1-10, a pure red heifer is sacrificed and incinerated. The animal’s ashes and blood are a mixture called the “water of separation: it is a purification for sin.”

The search for a pure red heifer has been in process for a long time: no white hairs, no physical blemish, one that has never been under the yoke. The Jews have not had a qualifying bovine in over 1900 years. Now it appears that they may have five.

What the Temple Institute plans to do with these red heifers is being kept hush, hush, but if not a sacrifice, then what?

The timing of all this is interesting as well. The quarantine for the animals ends right when Rosh Hashanah, ten days of purification, begins. Also, Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year. We are in the year of the Shmita. The Shmita year falls every seven years to purify the land.

The Temple is not needed for sacrifices to start. The Hebrew sacrifices began centuries before the construction of the Temple. Also, the sacrifice of the red heifer was made away from the camp, not at the Temple Mount (Numbers 19:3).

To summarize:

1. The signs for the end times are increasing in intensity and frequency.

2. The Temple needs rebuilding because the Antichrist enters the Temple during the Tribulation Period.

3. The Antichrist stops the sacrifices; therefore, sacrifices must start again.

4. The red heifers, the animal used in the sacrifice of purification, arrived in Israel within two weeks of the end of the year of purification and the start of a ten-day celebration used for purification.

The sacrifices that Daniel and Jesus told us the Antichrist would halt could begin in less than two weeks. The sacrifices may not start for several years, but the heifers are here after a 1900+ year absence.

One thing is sure; God is putting the prophetic puzzle pieces into place.
